Warranty
Brikbikes guarantees that its bicycles are free of construction and/or material defects, insofar as this follows from these warranty provisions.
The warranty can only be invoked when the bicycle has been purchased from an official Brik dealer or directly from Brikbikes. The warranty is only transferable if the original sales invoice can be presented.
Warranty period
Frame and cardan shaft: 2 years on construction and/or material defects;
The paintwork of the frame and fork is covered by a 2-year warranty against corrosion from the inside;
For front forks and all other parts, with the exception of the excluded parts, the same warranty applies for a period of 2 years. On all parts that can wear out, such as the tires, bearings, cables and brake pads, we do not give a warranty on wear, unless there are manufacturing, construction and/or material faults;
After the standard warranty period, Brik uses a leniency scheme based on depreciation.
Warranty Exclusions
The warranty is void in the following cases:
- Rental of the bicycles to third parties
- In case of improper use such as stunt driving
- Repairs not performed in a professional manner
- Incorrect adjustment/tension of gears, handlebars, stem, seatpost and saddle
- Failure to timely replace parts such as brake/gear cables, brake pads, tires
- Climatic influences such as normal weathering of paint or chrome rust
Parts Warranty
During the warranty period, all parts determined by Brik to be a material and/or construction fault will be repaired or reimbursed at Brik’s discretion.
The costs of transporting the bicycle and/or parts to and from Brik are for the account of the owner, unless the part concerned qualifies for warranty.
If a certain part qualifies for warranty and the original is no longer available, Brik will provide a minimum equivalent alternative.
Submit a claim
After discovering any defect, the owner is obliged to immediately stop using the bicycle in question and furthermore to do everything possible to prevent (further) damage.
Claims under this warranty must be submitted for inspection via the Brikbikes dealer from whom the bicycle was purchased, while offering the bicycle or the relevant part. At the same time, the original sales invoice must be submitted. The same procedure applies to bicycles purchased directly from Brikbikes and the request must be submitted to Brikbikes.
Liability
If a warranty claim is honored by Brik bicycles, this does not automatically mean that Brik bicycles also accepts liability for any damage suffered. The liability of Brik bicycles is at all times limited to that which is described in these warranty conditions. Any liability of Brik bicycles for consequential damage is expressly excluded. The provisions of this provision do not apply if and insofar as this results from a mandatory legal provision.
